I knew I was going to be an artist from day one. After getting tired of drawing dinosaurs and horses for the first part of my life, I went into comics and on to fine & commercial art, working for agencies in CT, NYC, TX and CA. Illustrating is a wonderful career, but I felt the need to start on another journey. Classes on wire wrapping were available at our local bead store, Manifest Beads, and I was hooked from that moment on. |

The material I use comes to me in the form of rough rock either, purchased, received as a gift or found during my prospecting travels. There are many stones available that are amazingly beautiful, yet are rarely used in stone art. Part of my quest is to learn the mineralogy, metaphysics and the techniques required to clearly present the benefits, wonder and beauty to others. |

My inspiration for working with glass came from my dad, who is a self-taught lampwork sculptor. As a child I would watch for hours as he created beautiful artwork in his studio at home. Many years later, when my father could no longer work on his glass he gave me a lot of his lampworking supplies and it all started from there. I studied under a local artist for a period of time, then set up my own studio in the garage, making and designing lampwork beads. |

From there, she learned many techniques from workshops, books, and experimentation. Emily loves jewelry; hammering, bending and forming metal. For Emily, making jewelry that people have an emotional response to is a very satisfying experience. |

I LOVE designing jewelry to compliment anyone, especially moms. I am not a mom myself, however I adore my nieces and nephews like they're my own. It's not like we need any more help bragging about our loved ones, but just in case, my jewelry will give you plenty of bragging practice!" Besides my mommy jewelry, I also design inspirational necklaces stamped with your favorite phrase or word. You can share your passion for a specific cause, for example, "Living Green", "Army Wife", "Rescue". You can also encourage those around you with your favorite Bible verse. The possibilities are endless! |

Erin Cartee loves of all things artistic and has an extreme curiosity for the world's strangest medium, glass… These are the driving forces behind her past, present and future work.
Erin began her glass journey in 1999 with the purchase of a few simple tools and a small torch, hoping she had found a new hobby. Little did she know she'd soon be bitten by the "glass bug" and this hobby would soon turn into a passion and full-time work.
Self-taught for the first 3 years, studying under renowned glass artists Mike Plane and Eric Goldschmidt in their 4th and 5th years, helped to further Erin's technical ability .

A New England native, I moved to the California bay area in 1998. The move must have stirred up some creative energy as I started making jewelry at about that same time. I love fun and different accessories and had an interest in creating them myself. I started out working with beads and wire wrapping, but now have moved towards mostly metalsmithing.
I took an intro to metalsmithing class at California College of the Arts, and then moved forward from there on my own through lots of research, and trial and error! For materials, I favor sterling silver, gold alloys, and the sparkle of gemstones and crystals.

Lis-el believes that creative expression is essential to personal well being and fulfillment. A handmade object is filled with the love of the artist who created it. It carries that love into the lives of all who interact with it. In this chaotic world, it is imperative that we return to balance through the honoring of the creative spark within us. Helping others to discover their own creative spark is central to Lis-el's work as a teacher and facilitator. |

Michael Thornton is a jewelry designer from the mid size town of Katy, Texas. His college work was at the University of Houston where his major was English and his minor was art. He first learned of jewelry construction in an art class consisting of design and building techniques, but he did not pursue the art until many years later. After suffering a heart attack and subsequent triple bypass surgery, he had to slow down his life and find a less stressful occupation. Jewelry construction fit the need for less stress. Michael chose to work with wire as his primary medium, turning a length of wire into a wearable work of art was truly rewarding to him.

Representing: Los Angeles, California I am inspired by the organic textures and shapes created in nature. I particularly love designing jewelry using the very textures I find all around me such as palm bark, grasses and raffia. I also delight in the look of reticulated, fused and melted metals which you will find in much of my work. I guess you could say I'm a corporate girl with an inner "hippie" attitude which comes out when my creative hands start moving! |
